jeannine pearce bio

Jeannine is a long time resident of the second district who believes all residents deserve a transparent local government, a thriving local economy, and a clean and safe environment to raise their families in. She has spent her life dedicated to fighting for equity for those most marginalized, including the LGBTQ community, youth, and working families.

She worked alongside home care workers and housekeepers in their fight for fair wages, healthcare, and respect on the job. She’s knocked thousands of doors in Long Beach to ensure residents were engaged in their local government.

Her story is one of struggle and perseverance. After a decade of working multiple jobs while going to college, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cal State Long Beach with a degree in Sociology in 2009. She has since worked as a Director with the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy leading the Long Beach campaign for higher minimum wages for hotel workers, increasing civic engagement through deep coalition building that has transformed the way the Long Beach Community engages with policy makers.

Jeannine's commitment is to the residents of the 2nd district and to the greater Long Beach Community. Her leadership has been recognized by several Long Beach organizations and leaders. She has received the Go Beach Award from Mayor Robert Garcia, Steward of the Second from Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal. Other awards include: The Long Beach Women's Democratic Study Club's Betty Karnette Award, and Long Beach Post's 40 Under 40.
